Battle Royale: Make Your First Fortnite® Style Video Game - $159 
Fans of Fortnite we need you! Instead of playing the game, design your own. Using a professional 3D game development software, build levels and assets inspired by popular battle royale games like Fortnite. Students can participate in eSports League matches against other schools across the country with a chance to have their levels featured in the Black Rocket master build of the game! This course includes cartoonish action and battle sequences. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.

Minecraft® Redstone Engineers - $159 
Take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Expand your Redstone knowledge by constructing your own carnival with a variety of mini-games, roller coasters, and attractions powered by Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level!  Students must own a Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible.

Use your favorite game to learn the basics of modding and foundations of programming. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods! Introductory coding will also be taught through a simulated environment inspired by Minecraft. Student projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must own a Java version of Minecraft to take this class. eSports Apprentice - Streamers and Gamers - $159 
Whether you want to be the next pro gamer, streamer, or gamecaster this course will teach you the basics to get started! No longer just a hobby, eSports is the fastest-growing career for the next generation. Over 400 million people watched YouTube videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this year alone! In this course, students will develop game-play skills and compete using Black Rocket’s eSports games and apps, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software, and most importantly practice online safety. Student recordings will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family.  Videos will not be broadcast publicly but will be shared with all students in the class.

Graphic novels are all the rage in children’s and young adult literature. Explore your creative side by creating one of your own! In this camp, we still study beloved graphic novel authors, such as Dav Pilkey, Raina Telgemeier and Booki Vivat. We will study their graphic novels, plot out our own stories and doodle the days away.

Spend the afternoon being creative and making art! We will create four acrylic paintings: Gingerbread House, Cheerful Snowman, Christmas Tree and a personalized Grinch Ornament painting.
 
Child Drama Workshops | Mr. Popper’s Penguins: The Play
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising prekindergarten through first grade - $265
Based on the children’s classic story, this stage production is rollicking good fun! Madcap comedy ensues when penguins multiply! Allow your child to beat the heat this summer in our chilly penguin play. Chess Masters

Come play and learn chess from Delaware’s state and national chess champions, Chess Masters of Delaware. Players will be taught on three levels: beginner, novice and advanced. 

Inventor’s League - Prototyping for the Future! - $159 
Become an inventor of the future! Learn ‘rapid prototyping’ and problem solving as you conceptualize and design a product to solve a critical global issue. Each day begins with inspirational profiles of young inventors, such as the eleven-year-old who coded a robot to find victims of natural disasters. Next, research a problem to tackle in medicine, architecture, the environment, or a topic of your choosing. Once your vision is complete, learn how to draft 2D designs, create 3D models, and develop a website to pitch your ideas to the class. Not a cloud in the sky for students preparing for the commuter flight to first grade. Students will review and solidify emergent literacy skills through shared reading, rhyming and word games. In addition to practicing various language arts skills, students will practice their handwriting skills. The students’ skill acquisition will be assessed in order to meet individual needs. In this fun filled week, begin to learn all the ins and outs of using a commercial pattern from start to finish. Learn how to choose a pattern, read the pattern envelope, lay the pattern out, cut correctly, mark the pattern pieces, and finally, stitch up a fantastic garment or creation. Wickline Casting | Introduction To Film and TV
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  - Rising third through ninth grade - $355
This is Wickline Casting’s original course that started 21 years ago. Your children will work as cast and crew teams in this cool camp. Kids learn basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as campers create projects as such commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence. They will truly learn the basics of the biz. After camp, all footage is sent to a professional editor. Parents have the option to order for purchase a professionally edited USB as a keepsake. This camp is designed by casting director Kathy Wickline, CSA (wicklinecasting.com), who holds over 10,000 casting credits in film, commercials and TV.

Wickline Casting | Music Video Camp
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Rising third through ninth grade - $325
Do you have an energetic performer in your household? Perhaps an aspiring choreographer or a video camera enthusiast? This program brings together a fun team that will work in unison on numerous “music videos.” In this camp your child will immerse themselves in on-camera movement, dancing, choreography and telling a story through music interpretation. First, campers start their project with writing the “storyline” of that day’s music video. Next, they decide on the “set” (cool locations at the school). Finally, they are ready for choreographing and rehearsing the music video. Several music videos will be created over the course of the week. The camera operator will be setting up/blocking and capturing many cool shots. Campers take turns in front of and behind the camera. This fun cast and crew team will promise a fun packed day while learning new skills in team building, management and artistic creation.
