Tower Hill's Enrichment Camps helps children broaden their academic horizons and stem summer slide with fun and engaging programs. 
Have a kid curious about robotics but has never had the chance to try? A natural performer interested in acting? A budding artist ready to get creative with clay? One of our many enrichments camps, some held through partner organizations, may be right for your family. Academic skills can also get a boost with reading and math camps to make sure kids are ready to go come September! 

Week of June 8-12

Fascination in Fabrics | Imagination Workshop
8:30-11:30 a.m., 12-3 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Rising first grade and up.
Join Ms. Bobbi and Ms. Sharon for a jam-packed week full of sewing fun and cool crafts to spark creativity! Offered twice this summer, each week promises lots of fun and different activities from arts and crafts to sewing—and everything in between.

Week of June 15-19
 
The Author in Me 
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising third through fifth grade -  $230 
Calling all creative writers! Is writing one of your passions? Do you want to learn more to enhance your writing skills? This weeklong, half day camp invites authors and illustrators to explore the components of a story, various strategies to engage readers and applications for electronic publishing. By the week’s end, students will have created at least one original book that will be a keepsake to share for years to come. 
 
Multiplication Math Fun
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising third through fifth grade -  $230
Knowing math facts is an important part of life, and memorizing them can be easy and fun! At this camp, we will practice our math facts in a lot of different ways, such as games, songs, races and more. This camp can help keep your math skills sharp or help you gain speed and confidence in your knowledge. Kids will also leave this camp with activities and practice routines they can work on throughout the summer. 
 
Community Caring 
9 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Rising third through fifth grade -  $150
Come join us as we set out for service around Wilmington. Activities may include making artwork for local shelters, stocking food pantry shelves, gardening with Lutheran Community Services, making no-sew blankets for babies and much more!

This summer, join Language University for four weeks of language fun: two weeks of Spanish, two weeks of French. Sign up for just a week or two, or all four! Each week focuses on a central theme that keeps campers active and learning all summer long. Sessions include a variety of games, crafts, adventures, live music and more to ensure campers are engaged and happy from start to finish. Whether children are experiencing Spanish or French for the first time or keeping up with their language foundation, Language U promises to keep your children motivated, entertained and learning—of course!

Fascination in Fabrics | American Girl Sewing (New Projects This Year!)
8:30-11:30 a.m., 12-3 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Rising first grade and up.
In this popular camp, children spend a week planning and creating a great wardrobe for their American Girl dolls. Beginners make a simple wardrobe and accessories from basic patterns and use embellishments to personalize their creations. Intermediate sewers will choose patterns, fabrics and trims to create a stylish wardrobe for their doll while learning to use a pattern. Spend the week with Ms. Bobbi making fun clothes and accessories for your special doll. Learn to sew and love it!

At Tower Hill’s well-equipped woodshop, campers learn how to properly use woodworking tools while creating projects that match their level of skill. These camps are geared toward bringing out the inner engineer in all children!

Black Rocket | Make Your First Video Game
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising third through eighth grade - $195
If you love playing video games, this is the camp for you! Make your first video game in this one of a kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2D platformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, level design, graphics, sounds and simple coding are just some of the concepts that we’ll explore. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to have fun. Student projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Games are only compatible on PC computers; Mac versions can be created after the program for $15 conversion fee. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
 
Black Rocket | Advanced Robotics
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising third through eighth grade - $195
In this class, create a basic A.I. to program a robot using visual and text based code. Utilize a variety of sensors that help your robot navigate and overcome daily class challenges. With your teammates, you will apply different coding concepts while using the scientific method to formulate, observe, experiment, test and modify your robot. Students will work in teams for most of the program. No prior experience is required. 
 
 
Week of June 22-26
 
Ready For Takeoff! 
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising first grade - $245 per week
Not a cloud in the sky for students preparing for the commuter flight to first grade. Students will review and solidify emergent literacy skills through shared reading, rhyming and word games. In addition to practicing various language arts skills, students will practice their handwriting skills. The students’ skill acquisition will be assessed in order to meet individual needs. Harry Potter World 
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising third through fifth grade - $230 
Do you love all things Harry Potter? Or, do you hear lots of talk about Harry Potter and wonder what the fuss is all about? Either way, this is the camp for you! We will read the first Harry Potter book, discuss our favorite characters, find out what house you’d be in—and much more!
 
Ceramics
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising second through fourth grade - $245
Come play with clay! This class will explore different clay building techniques. From creating a coil pot to a relief tile—there will be something for everyone! We will also learn about glazing and surface design. At the end of the week, everyone will have fun creations to bring home.

Photography for Middle Schoolers
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising fifth through eighth grade - $240
What can we do in a photography summer camp? We can learn how to use a digital SLR camera and an old fashioned film camera. We can experiment to see what amazing things you can do with phone cameras. We can explore nature through a camera lens. We can learn some computer editing software. We can use an old fashioned darkroom. We can do stop motion, light drawing, optical illusions—and more! 
 
Fascination in Fabrics | Summer On The Go: Sewing For The Beach
8:30-11:30 a.m., 12-3 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Rising first grade and up.
Summer “Sewing on the Go” is a fun filled class jam packed with lots of cool projects to make and take. This week we will focus on sewing projects to take to the beach! Learn to navigate the sewing machine and understand lots of sewing terms and techniques. Sharpen your embellishment and embroidery skills and let your creativity take over to personalize all your projects. Classes are tailored to the sewing knowledge of participants in each class.

Child Drama Workshops | 101 Dalmatians: The Play
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising prekindergarten through first grade - $265
This classic favorite will come to life on stage with your child’s own pretend puppy energy! This power-packed romp finds 101 puppies trying to outsmart the infamous villainess Cruella De Vil. Allow your child the opportunity to play act this beloved story. Will you be able to tell the real dalmatian from the child dalmatians? All camps present a play for parents on the last day of camp and include stage makeup, costume accessories and a souvenir keepsake program. 
 
Black Rocket | Code Breakers
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising third through eighth grade - $195
Calling all future coders, programmers and designers! Learn the basics of coding languages like HTML, JavaScript and CSS through a series of web projects and design challenges each day and be on your way to becoming the next tech star. Whether you want to be a Silicon Valley CEO or the high school student who just made $1 million dollars for programming in her bedroom, this course has the essentials you need to begin your journey. Projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. 
 
Black Rocket | Code Explorers

This camp is geared toward curious young minds that want to take the first steps into the world of programming. Student explorers will use their creativity to solve a series of web-based coding challenges. Each lesson builds fluency in essential digital skills needed for the future. At the end of the class, students will receive access to the interactive learning platform to continue their coding journey at home.​ Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Fans of Fortnite, we need you! Instead of playing the game, design your own. Using a professional 3D game development software, build levels and assets inspired by popular battle royale games like Fortnite. Students can participate in eSports League matches against other schools across the country with a chance to have their levels featured in the Black Rocket master build of the game! This course includes cartoonish action and battle sequences. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. 
 
Chess Masters
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising kindergarten through 12th grade - $105
Come play and learn chess from Delaware’s state and national chess champions, Chess Masters of Delaware. Players will be taught on three levels: beginner, novice and advanced.

Graphic Novels Made Easy
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising third through fifth grade - $230
Graphic novels are all the rage in children’s and young adult literature. Explore your creative side by creating one of your own! In this camp, we still study beloved graphic novel authors, such as Dav Pilkey, Raina Telgemeier and Booki Vivat. We will study their graphic novels, plot out our own stories and doodle the days away.

Wickline Casting | Music Video Camp
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Rising third through ninth grade - $325
Do you have an energetic performer in your household? Perhaps an aspiring choreographer or a video camera enthusiast? This program brings together a fun team that will work in unison on numerous “music videos.” Campers will immerse themselves in on-camera movement, dancing, choreography and telling a story through music interpretation. Campers take turns in front of and behind the camera. This fun cast and crew team will promise a fun packed day while learning new skills in team building, management and artistic creation. 
  
Science Explorers | Take A Dive
8:30-11:30 a.m., 12-3 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Ages 7-11 
Dive into the world of marine biology and oceanography! In our half day camp, you’ll dissect a real shark, participate in a fisherman’s challenge, examine the anatomy of a fish and learn the ancient technique of gyotaku or “fish rubbing,” learn to survive at sea with a homemade solar still, create a kelp forest and make your own submarine. Stay for the full day camp and come face-to-face with some unique sea creatures! You’ll complete a squid dissection, bring to life genuine Triassic Triops, conduct a whale adaptations lab and examine many weird wonders that live under the sea! Child Drama Workshops | Mr. Popper’s Penguins: The Play

Based on the children’s classic story, this stage production is rollicking good fun! Madcap comedy ensues when penguins multiply! Allow your child to beat the heat this summer in our chilly penguin play. This new class combines game design concepts, coding and fun! Young entrepreneurs will also learn how to navigate ROBLOX’s fast-growing marketplace to publish their games. Black Rocket | eSports Apprentice - Streamer and Gamers
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising third through eighth grade - $195
Whether you want to be the next pro gamer, streamer or gamecaster, this course will teach you the basics to get started! No longer just a hobby, eSports is a fast growing career for the next generation. Over 400 million people watched YouTube videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this year alone! In this course, students will develop game play skills and compete using Black Rocket’s eSports games and apps, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software and, most importantly, practice online safety. Student recordings will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Videos will not be broadcast publicly but will be shared with all students in the class.

Black Rocket | Minecraft Redstone Engineers

Take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Expand your redstone knowledge by constructing your own carnival with a variety of mini games, roller coasters and attractions powered by Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level! Students must own a Java version of Minecraft to access their projects at home. Tablet, phone and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Child Drama Workshops | Peppa Pig: The Play
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Rising kindergarten through third grade - $365
Kids can become their favorite Peppa Pig character! This hugely popular children’s tale will bring Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig to life on stage. Let’s not forget Rebecca Rabbit, Suzy Sheep or Candy Cat. Join Peppa in this fun adventure that teaches children about friendship, cooperation and feelings. This play is so much fun for all ages. All plays include professional makeup, costume accessories and set art. A professional choreographer will join our creative process.
 
Black Rocket | Bricks and Sticks Stop Animation
8:30-11:30 a.m. - Rising first through third grade - $195
Take your stop motion movies to the next level. First, create a story with Stikbots, LEGOs, action figures or all three! Then watch your story come to life using special stop motion software that allows you to add special effects and go beyond the typical software on a mobile device. Students will need to bring in figures, Stikbots or LEGOs from home, but all other equipment will be provided. Student-created films will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. 
 
Black Rocket | Lego Films and Stop Action
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising first through third grade - $195
Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favorite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. Whether you want to recreate a scene from Star Wars or design a world of your own, this class brings your dreams to the screen. Students will need to bring in LEGOs and/or action figures from home, but all other equipment is provided. Student-created films will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. In this fun filled week, begin to learn all the ins and outs of using a commercial pattern from start to finish. Learn how to choose a pattern, read the pattern envelope, lay the pattern out, cut correctly, mark the pattern pieces, and finally, stitch up a fantastic garment or creation. Wickline Casting | Introduction To Film and TV
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  - Rising third through ninth grade - $355
This is Wickline Casting’s original course that started 21 years ago. Your children will work as cast and crew teams in this cool camp. Kids learn basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as campers create projects as such commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence. They will truly learn the basics of the biz. After camp, all footage is sent to a professional editor. Parents have the option to order for purchase a professionally edited USB as a keepsake. This camp is designed by casting director Kathy Wickline, CSA (wicklinecasting.com), who holds over 10,000 casting credits in film, commercials and TV.

Unlock the power of ROBLOX® Studio, the world creation tool used by real-world ROBLOX® developers! Learn how to build 3D models and create an adventure in your ROBLOX® world. Bring characters to life with unique animations you design. Student-created projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Black Rocket | YouTube Content Creators
12:30-3:30 p.m. - Rising third through eighth grade - $195
Find your voice and leave your mark on the world; it’s time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the dos and don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on camera presence, your own channel branding and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class! This timeless classic includes song and dance and wonderful opportunities for character development through acting. Based on the original story, our play will feature familiar twists and surprise turns as we visit Wonderland through the use of our imaginations. All plays include professional direction, choreography, set art, makeup and costume accessories. 
 
Black Rocket | Minecraft Modders
8:30-11:30 a.m.  - Rising third through eighth grade - $195 
Use your favorite game to learn the basics of modding and foundations of programming. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods! Introductory coding will also be taught through a simulated environment inspired by Minecraft. Student projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must own a Java version of Minecraft to access their projects at home. Tablet, phone and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. 
 
Black Rocket | Inventor’s League: Prototyping for the Future!
12:30-3:30 p.m.  - Rising third through eighth grade - $195
Become an inventor of the future! Learn “rapid prototyping” and problem solving as you conceptualize and design a product to solve a critical global issue. Each day begins with inspirational profiles of young inventors, such as the 11-year-old who coded a robot to find victims of natural disasters. Next, research a problem to tackle in medicine, architecture, the environment or a topic of your choosing. Once your vision is complete, learn how to draft 2D designs, create 3D models and develop a website to pitch your ideas to the class. Student projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
 
Chess Masters 
12:30-3:30 p.m.  - Rising kindergarten through 12th grade - $130
Come play and learn chess from Delaware’s state and national chess champions, Chess Masters of Delaware. Players will be taught on three levels: beginner, novice and advanced.
