Arthur Ganson's Kinetic Scultures Captivate TH Students

Even before Arthur arrived, we, the art and science departments, sensed an excitement,—
no, more of a secret that could not withstand the tension of time, as we counted down to Monday, January 29, his arrival day and first of a week of his artist-in-residency with us (funded in part by the Hannah E. Shickley Visiting Artist Fund). Arthur Ganson, a long-term artist-in-residence at the MIT gallery, brought a week of celebration and learning to the entire school with his show, modestly entitled “A Few Machines.” It is the most highly energized the gallery of the Pierre S. du Pont Arts Center has ever been. He has shown in Germany, Norway and beyond, before gracing us with his wisdom and beautiful spirit. We miss him now that he has returned to Boston, but happily his machines are “ours” until March 16! Let the celebration continue!
