Students Compete in National Chess Championship in Nashville

On May 9-12, Tower Hill students competed with 2,000 other participants in the National Chess Championship in Nashville, Tennessee.
 
Nicholas Waesco '29, Avi Yadav '29, Beck Jafarieh '29, Caiden Sun '28, Hudson Simon '29 and Jackson Spruance '29 won a 2nd place team trophy and individual plaques in the K-3 UNR section. Yadav, Sun and Waesco won trophies.
 
Subhi Yadav '26, Roshan Iyengar '25, Ritvik Iyengar '25 and Luke Jafarieh '27 won a 3rd place team trophy and individual plaques in the K-6 UNR section. 
 
Richie Angiullo '25, Linc Coleman '26, Michael Waesco '26, Braden Hehir '27 and Finn Hehir '27 won a 4th place team trophy and individual plaques in the K-6 u1000 section. Angiullo won 1st place overall out of 186 participants in his section! 
 
Tad Coleman '27 won a 16th place trophy out of 210 participants in the K-5 u1200 section.
 
Michael Liu '26 and Stokes Mellon '25 competed in the K-6 u1400 section.
