Anne Kirkwood - First Art Opening of the School Year

Anne Kirkwood is a Brooklyn, New York, artist whose work was initially inspired by her love and knowledge of music as a classically trained musician and active quartet violist. She is an avid student of early 20th century Modernists, in particular, Vasily Kandinsky, whose works inspired her to use color and space as analogs for sound and time. Kirkwood has held two consecutive exhibits of her works at the Lincoln Center in New York under the auspices of the Metropolitan Opera. In the past year, Anne exhibited at the prestigious Synchronicity Fine Arts Gallery in the Chelsea section of Manhattan and was selected for permanent exhibitor status at the Rowayton Arts Center in Connecticut. She has also exhibited in Los Angeles, Georgia, and Venice, Italy.
